Did you know that UCC students are 'Making A Difference: OLPC Laptops, Solar Power, & Wireless Internet in Kenya'
Our four young “MacGyvers” figured out how to combine existing technologies — rugged OLPC laptops, cell-phone technology, portable wireless routers, and solar panels — to bring reliable Internet access to Ntugi’s 200 students, few of whom had ever touched a computer or even heard of the Internet.
So powerful is the success story depicted in this video that it won the National Middle School Association’s video contest and will be played for 7,000 educators at the annual North American conference’s general session.
