Upper Canada College needs parent judges for the Fulford Debate Tournament it’s hosting on Saturday, April 5.
UCC is a founding member of the Fulford League, a group formed to promote debating and public speaking. The league is comprised of 19 Ontario independent schools that compete in three high school debate tournaments each year for the Fulford Cup.
A detailed briefing for judges will be provided on the morning of the event and therefore no debating or judging experience is necessary. Registration will occur between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. The event closes for judges at 2:30 p.m.
Students will argue in favour of and against the abolition of developmental foreign aid for the first two prepared rounds, and will then tackle another engaging topic during the final impromptu round.
This is a wonderful opportunity to network, enjoy a good lunch and witness well-informed and eloquent high school debaters in action.
