Tier 1B Starts the Season With a Win!

The Tier 1B team travelled down the hill to face perennial rivals De La Salle college in a thrilling season opener. Veteran goalie Cole Berall '20 got the start, and held in the team in the game early with some huge saves. It didn't take long for the scoring to begin, with UCC's top line of Adam Hargarten '20, Ben Atkinson '21, and Brendan Meisner '21 scoring the first two goals, and combining for an incredible 13 points in the game. After earning a 4-2 lead entering the third period, UCC quickly found themselves tied with their gritty opponents, owing to some penalty trouble and mental lapses. Luckily, rookie defenceman Kyle Buso '20 scored the winning goal with about ten minutes left in the third period on an end-to-end rush, and solid goaltending and team defence helped secure a 6-4 win. Big thanks to the parents and fans that made the trip to the game. The team now has a layoff, returning to action in early January with a busy schedule.
