Day of learning for librarians from Conference of Independent Schools community

On November 22, librarians from 15 CIS schools spent an illuminating day of learning and connection at UCC.
The event began at the Prep’s Wilder Library, where Principal Sam McKinney and CIS Ontario Executive Director Sarah Craig welcomed the group. Morning programming focused on learning about Libguides, a platform for curating online resources in support of student inquiry. After Prep School tours and a book-sharing session, the group headed to the Macintosh Library at the Upper School for an afternoon presentation and the chance to make purchases from Another Story Bookshop. Another Story has expertise in the areas of social justice, equity and diversity, and a resource selection that aligns well with UCC's pluralism value.

Schools in attendance were Bayview Glen, The Bishop Strachan School, Branksome Hall, Crescent, Holy Trinity, Kingsway College School, Montcrest, Pickering College, Ridley College, Royal St. George’s College, St. Clement’s. St. Michael’s College School, Trinity College School, and The York School.
