Alumni honoured for outstanding academic achievements

On Nov. 29, two members of the Class of 2019 returned to campus to be recognized for reaching incredible academic heights.
Raphael Berz was acknowledged as Head Boy and awarded the Grant Medal for the top standing in 2019’s leaving class based on a final IB result of 45 — a perfect score. Oscar Wang received the Governor General's Medal for achieving the highest average in all Ontario credits at the Grade 11 and Grade 12 levels.

Berz and Wang were presented with their awards during assembly and both had the opportunity to say a few words. Berz’s message to current students was that everyone has something meaningful to contribute. Wang encouraged the boys to explore outside their comfort zones, and emphasized the importance of discovery. Both Berz and Wang are now studying at Yale.
