The Under 12 Boyd Caldwell Invitational Hockey Tournament was named in memory of William Boyd Caldwell M.C. who entered the Prep in its first year, 1902. Mr. Caldwell was an outstanding athlete, representing the Prep School in many sports and later as a member of the first team in both hockey and cricket. He continued on to play varsity hockey at the University of Toronto and was later selected for an all-star Eastern Canadian team that played against the West. His family continues to support hockey at the Prep School. Four of William Boyd Caldwell’s great grandson’s followed their great grandfather’s tradition representing the school on various hockey teams.
It is with great pleasure that we are able to honour Mr. William Boyd Caldwell with the naming of the U12 Invitational Hockey Tournament.
