Relay for Life

Relay for Life is more than just a social event, it’s an opportunity for our entire community to unite under one common goal of ending cancer.
— Jack Guilfoyle, Year 12 student
Today, nearly half of Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But with your help, we’re funding groundbreaking research and able to provide a national support system for people with cancer, their caregivers and their families.
Together with Crescent School and Havergal College, UCC is proud to host the COSSOT Relay For Life event on Thursday, April 27, 2023, an uplifting community event to support those affected by cancer. COSSOT Relay for Life is Toronto’s largest student-run event in the support of the Canadian Cancer Society. This event helps fund Canada’s most-promising and ground-breaking research against all cancers, as well as build awareness in our community. Last year the event raised over $180,000 for cancer research, with 800+ walkers supporting the cause.

At the heart of Relay For Life is the track, symbolizing the constant battle against cancer and the unwavering support of our community. Each team participating in the event is required to have at least one participant walking around the track at all times, representing the endurance and determination needed to conquer this disease and the community's ongoing support of those struggling with cancer.
