Pursuits for Every Interest

Co-curricular breadth is a core part of the UCC experience

With 115 clubs across the Prep and Upper School and a great variety of events and activities throughout the school year, UCC gives students myriad opportunities to hone their talents, develop leadership skills and connect with their peers.

UCC clubs cover a wide range of areas, including arts, athletics, entrepreneurship, global issues, and community service. Students are encouraged to take the initiative and start a new club if one doesn’t exist in their particular area of interest.

In the Prep School, clubs and activities are designed to build early leadership skills and teamwork. Students take on roles such as student ambassadors, morning greeters, colour house captains, debaters and eco-ambassadors.

In the Upper School, options include signature offerings like the World Affairs Conference and Model UN, as well as math, medical, science and philosophy societies, cultural clubs, and community service initiatives like Helping Hands and Blue Hearts. Students interested in robotics, music, financial literacy or film and digital arts will also find their niche — and kindred spirits.

From the voices of our students
My proudest achievement was winning best delegate in my committee at Berkley Model UN, the world’s oldest Model United Nations conference, in Year 10. I think more than the award, this experience helped propel my deeper involvement at school in a number of co-curricular activities.
I hadn't done any of this before robotics club. I did a lot of building and learned about drivetrain mechanics and gear ratios. By the end of the season, I could almost build my own robot.
