Graduation Pathways that reflect every student's unique journey
UCC builds on our leadership in education and our long-standing experience delivering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) through three established graduation pathways: the IB DP, the IB DP Courses Pathway, and the IB DP Systems Transformation Pathway.
While the benefits of a broad liberal education remain, international research, the IB and UCC recognize the value of offering flexible, future-oriented and responsive pathways that centre choice, agency, wellbeing and real-world relevance.
The pathways mirror the structure of a university undergraduate experience and prepare students to thrive in their postsecondary studies and beyond.
Each pathway is rigorous and engaging, allowing students to tailor their learning to their interests, strengths, and aspirations while maintaining the highest academic standards.
Students study across six subject groups and are supported by the DP Core, which includes Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) — developing critical thinking, independent research, and experiential learning.
Students entering Year 11 may pursue one of three UCC Graduation Pathways:

Graduates of the Diploma Programme Pathway and the Diploma Programme Systems Transformation Pathway will earn the IB Diploma and graduates of the Diploma Programme Courses Pathway will earn IB Course Certificates for the courses they complete. All of the pathways allow students to meet the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Our pathways prepare students to leave UCC well-positioned for success in their postsecondary studies and in their lives beyond school.
