Big win on A-Day vs DLS for U16A Soccer

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, UCC took the field against another tough opponent in De Le Salle.  With very few games to play this season, every game is crucial.  With 3 points on the line, the Blues wanted to get off to a better start and so they did.  With constant pressure on the opposing defence and a quick counter attack play, Matthew Wong took the ball from the right wing and took it into the box and fed Harris Dickinson who side foot touch put it into the path for Will Rees to tap it in and put the Blues ahead 1-0.

The Blues added to their lead with a great header by Justin Jimal off a corner kick and penalty kick by Arbaaz Ebrahim.  An unlucky own goal by the UCC defence kept the game close but the half ended 3-1 for UCC.

The second half was a collection of shots on the DLS goal but their keeper held strong to keep the score at bay.  Then mid way through the second half, Josh Dyer took the ball up the right wing into the 18 yard box and cut it back to his left foot and unleashed a great shot that finished under the top bar to make it 4-1.

This is how it ended to bring our record to 2-0.  Next up SAC on Wednesday.  A big game for both teams.

Thanks to all parents for their support.  Be sure to come out and show your support on Wednesday.

Go Blues!!
