Stu hold the unique distinction of having made an $11 million gift to UCC's Think Ahead Campaign, the largest in Canadian independent school history. He generously supports and is dedicated to the
Lang Scholar program, named in his honour. Stu served as the chair of the athletic review committee, served on the finance and audit sub-committee as well as the principal’s advisory committee. He spent two years as a volunteer coach for varsity football. Stu is the former divisional president and current director of Toronto-based CCL Industries, a world leader in label solutions for global consumer brands. He was the former head football coach at the University of Guelph, where he led the team to a best-ever regular season record in 2012–13. Stu was a member of five Grey Cup-winning teams during an illustrious Canadian Football League career (1974 to 1981) with the Edmonton Eskimos.
