UCC welcomes incoming governor Joannah Lawson

Joannah Lawson is the newest appointee to Upper Canada College’s Board of Governors. The incoming governor is president of her family foundation and a nutrition consultant with a passion for promotion of both human and environmental health. She has experience in the high-tech industry, entrepreneurial business management, and the non-profit sector. She has served as Co-Chair of the Campaign Cabinet at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine and the Boundless Campaign Executive.
As a proud UCC past parent and volunteer, I am honoured to fulfil the role of governor,” says Lawson. I have observed firsthand how transformative UCC has been to my boys for their learning and character development, and I’m excited to be able to give back to the College in this new capacity. I’m inspired by our Strategic Directions and look forward to helping the College fulfil its aspirational goals.”

Lawson brings to the Board her experience in leadership development, change management and a deep understanding of health promotion and wellbeing. She has previously chaired nutrition committees at both the Prep and Upper Schools over a nine-year period and has served on the Association Council since 2016.

Her three children are Tristan ’17, Alexander ’19 and Gillian.
