With a terrific home-ice crowd in attendance, the JV Hockey team took to the ice this afternoon with their goal to capture their first CISAA Championship since 2014. A determined Crescent team clearly showed early that it was not going to hand the Blues the championship. The first period saw Crescent hem in the Blues for the first half of the period, with goaltender Chris Core holding the fort, as usual. The Blues managed to turn the tide somewhat in the latter part of the first period but the score heading into the second period was 0-0. The Blues seemed to be taking over the game a little more in the second period and with a goal by senior Andreas Tutino, the team took a slim 1-0 lead into the third period.
However, the Blues played a solid third period, not giving up many chances to the Coyotes, except for one cross-bar......an empty net goal by senior Ben Fitzpatrick with under one minute remaining sealed the CISAA Championship for 2018-19. It was a well played and exciting game by both teams and our team really appreciated the support of our community. It certainly made a difference for our team. Congratulations to the JV Hockey team on winning the CISAA Championship!

The Blues were led with a hat-trick by Johnny Wright and solid goaltending from Chris Core. The Blues will not play again until the New Year with exams just around the corner. A solid start to the season though and better things to come.
The JV Hockey Team finally got in some game action following their initial tryouts and practices. We hosted Crescent in an exhibition game and the game although sloppily played at times, was a good chance to see what we need to work on. Chris Core was outstanding in goal for the Blues and kept the team in the game in the first period. UCC goals were scored by Finn McDermott and Andrea Tutino. The Blues host Lakefield College School in their first league game next Wednesday, November 28th. Go Blues
