Association day presented the First Soccer Blues with the perfect “footballing” conditions.
The Blues emergent from “the Tunnel” (of their home fans) on fire and were ahead in the second minute when veteran striker Luka Chu netted his first goal after converting on a rebound from “Dre” Tuttino. A minute later the Blues were 2:0 up when striker Oscar Brown fired a blistering shot from well outside the 18 yard box which nestled in the top left corner of the TCS net. TCS recovered from the shock however and the match was fairly even until half time but neither team could find the back of the opposition net.
In the second half, despite playing into the wind, the Blues played well until midway through, when the play became spirited resulting in 2 yellows for each side. This settled play somewhat, and finally, in the 86 th minute, captain PJ Bujouves sealed the match after receiving a perfect pass from Luka Chu.
Man of the Match PJ Bujouves (play in midfield and prettiest goal), honourable mentions: Oscar Brown (most spectacular goal) and Mark Yatchew (defensive star).
