Blues make it 4 wins.

RT
Playing our 3rd game in 5 days, one might think the Blues would be a little heavy-footed but with the red jerseys of SAC at the opposite end of the pitch, we knew our team would be up for a challenging match. As expected, it was a tight contest as the Saints made it difficult for the Blues to string passes together. It was not until the 23rd minute that a rare seam opened up and Theo Heintzman threaded a beautiful pass through the SAC defense to Luka Chu, who scored with a well-placed shot. The game settled into an even battle again and the first half finished UCC 1 – SAC 0.
The second half began with a little more speed and some improved passing from the Blues. In the 55th minute, a splendid cross from Eitan Rosen found Luka Chu, who netted his second goal. Three minutes later, a PJ Bujouves corner kick was met by a rising Mark Yatchew, who connected with a thundering header that bulged the old onion bag. The Saints responded and created some good chances in the Blues end. In the 67th minute however, it was PJ again who provided the service, this time crossing the ball to Alex Cinquino in the SAC area. Alex settled the ball, spun quickly and scored with a powerful shot. The Blues were playing well now. With speed, finesse and beautiful passing, newcomer Azaan Sayed was tearing up the left wing and the SAC keeper made some spectacular saves. Finally, in the 80th minute, PJ pressing forward found himself this time on the receiving end of some quick one-touch passing. He finished the move with his characteristic low, hard shot. Final score: UCC 5 – SAC 0.
Man of the Match: Luka Chu. Honourable mentions: PJ Bujouves and Azaan Sayed.

Next week we head to New Brunswick to defend our title at the CAIS national tournament hosted by Rothesay Netherwood School in Saint John.

In the meantime, with this win, the Blues head into a mid-season long weekend break with much to be thankful for: thankful for a 4 and 0 record; thankful for the opportunity to rest and recover; thankful for great fan support from friends and family at every game. Thank you!
