  • Sarah Barclay

Prep School information and communications technology (ICT) and design teacher
I've been teaching at UCC since 2001 as a math teacher, form adviser, and now ICT integrator and Year 6 design teacher. I have a personal passion for the integration of technology into all areas of teaching. I am now a Google-certified teacher, continuing to help students and teachers integrate technology into their programs.
  • Mark Ferley

    Prep School Year 3 teacher
I have taught Years 5 and 3 here at Upper Canada and am constantly amazed at the potential in our boys, the dedication of my peers, and support of our community. I am fortunate to be a part of this community and daily strive to give my best, as our history commands it, and the future of our boys deserves it.
  • Paul McGarr

    Prep School music teacher
I’m the director of five different bands and teach music to our Year 6 and 7 boys. I'm also the coordinator for the After School Program. I enjoy spreading the joy of music through adjudicating, conducting, and educating bands from all over North America and Europe, including at the National Music Camp of Canada.
  • Byung Chun

    Upper School math teacher
As a high school competitor, I won the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad and earned three medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad. I now run
UCC Math Select, a public program for boys and girls in grades 5 through 9 for training students to write and excel at North America’s most popular math contests.
  • Heather Crawford

Upper School English and theory of knowledge teacher
My Grade 11 English teacher was a passionate, tireless and exacting woman who inspired me to pursue teaching as a career. One of my favourite things about teaching, especially at UCC, is that it prevents me from becoming a lazy thinker. I love it when students challenge my reasoning and introduce me to new perspectives on important issues.
  • Mari Roughneen

    Upper School teacher librarian
I manage the Macintosh Library facility and I develop library collections to support the learning and general reading interests of our Upper School community (a wonderfully diverse and engaging task!) The questions and curiosity of the students and colleagues I work with at UCC make my work as a librarian routinely rewarding.
