  • Last W of the Regular Season

    The U11A Basketball team finished off the regular season with a bang beating The York School 58-38! The boys dominated on offense taking a 10-4 run in the first shift and maintaining the lead the whole game. The boys created space on offense by using cuts and screens and then passing to the open teammates for the shot. The boys will compete in the CISAAs on Saturday, February 23rd at TFS.

  • TFS Invitational Champions

    Game 1: Crescent

    Coming off of a two game winning streak on Thursday and Friday, the boys were ready to face Crescent once again. This was an emotional game after having just played Crescent in such a competitive game less than 24hrs before. The boys composure and attitude allowed throughout the game allowed them to take the lead in the last 2 shifts, ending with a final score of 18-15.

    Game 2: The York School

    This game was a learning opportunity for everyone. This was the first time that the boys had faced TYS this season and we were coming off of three straight wins. The boys worked so well together, executing the offense, reading the court and taking good shots. UCC demonstrated sportsmanship and played like a team, everybody contributed to a well deserved the win over TYS.
    Game 3: Sterling Hall School
    This was the championship game, the game that they had been working towards all morning, This was also their 5th game in less than 72 hrs. The boys were tired, but they gave it their all. UCC maintained the lead throughout the game, but SHS made them work hard on defense and work together to ensure that they were in help defense.UCC took advantage of fast break scoring opportunities and passed the ball around on offense to put up good shots. The boys ended the game with a score of 54-38, winning the TFS invitational.

    The boys should be so proud of how hard they have worked as a team in the last few days.

  • Winterfest Win


    On Friday the boys played against our rivals, Crescent. We faced Crescent in our first game of the season and were unable to capture a win. However, this time around UCC was ready and wanted to show Crescent how far they had come as a team. UCC earned a W with a final score of 37-36 with Hudson scoring the final basket with 2 seconds left in the game. The boys should be so proud of how far they have come individually, but also as a team so far this season.

  • Defence Wins Games

    The boys played a tremendous game against Bayview Glen on Thursday January 24th. They earned a win with a final score of 41-33. This game challenged to boys read and react to the game, both on offense and defense. The boys were able to limit BVG's scoring opportunities in the last two shifts by playing tight D and recognizing the need for help.

  • Nail-biting Finish

    The game started out rocky with TFS leading the second shift 19-1. The boys started the third shift with a fresh start and positive attitude. They played tremendous defense and used their height to an advantage to go on a 15-2 run bringing the score to 21-16. The boys continued to work hard on defense denying TFS from many scoring opportunities. On the offense end, UCC took advantage of good scoring opportunities and outrebounded their opponents. The game went back and forth in the final shifts, the ended the game with a 40-39 point lead scoring the final basket in the last minute! Some highlights from the game were Lawrence and Isaac both scoring 12 points each, Hudson playing incredible help defense and AJ playing strong defense and preventing their top scorer from scoring.

    A great game was played by all! The boys should be proud of their teamwork and hard work.
